Haroun and the Sea of Stories

Haroun and the Sea of Stories is the first Slovenian theatre production of Salman Rushdie’s novel with the same name and is directed by Ivana Djilas. It is a fantasy tale about freedom of speech in which young Haroun helps his father Rashid, a famous storyteller, to rediscover the gift of storytelling. The story begins in a sad city and includes elements of family melodrama and political themes, all set in a fairytale world. The performance, which raises the question of the meaning and usefulness of art, includes words, music, movement and animation.
