Metlika: Let’s break the Bela Krajina flatbread
As the dough rises, we get to know the city
Belokranjska pogača is a dish with the label of guaranteed traditional specialty. Salt and cumin give it a characteristic taste. The cake associated with the rites of hospitality is not cut, but broken into pieces. After the workshop at Hiša dobrot in Metlika, we will also know how to prepare it at home.
Even before we try our own cake, we will experience the hospitality of Bela krajina. The reception will be accompanied by sparkling wine, and after the preparation of the dough, we will taste traditional wines and their seasonal accompaniments (cheese, salami, nuts). While the dough for the cake is rising, we will walk through the old town center of Metlika, and after returning, we will taste what we prepared together and evaluate the quality of the cake.
