Goran Bertok – Retrospective Exhibition

Goran Bertok’s superb photography and radical topics place him at the very top of Slovenian photography. In his early work, the main subject of his works was wounded bodies with references to unconventional sexual practices; later, the central motif of his photographic series became the dead body and the body approaching death, as he portrayed those who had experienced the imminent proximity of death or had brought their bodies to the brink of death. The retrospective exhibition at the Gallery of Contemporary Art will focus on the themes of death and near-death, which are still taboo and marginalised by modern society.
