Belokranjsko cvrtje (fritters)

Fried food has always been regarded as festive food, as oil and fat were considered very valuable goods. Traditional “Belokranjsko cvrtje” are pieces of ground pork meat, dipped into a batter of eggs, flour and spices and then fried in oil or pork fat. This fried delicacy is served alongside a potato or green salad and is equally delicious when served cold or hot.
